Understanding Some of HIPAA's Permitted Uses and Disclosures
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) have worked collaboratively to develop a fact sheet on Communicating with a Patient's Family, Friends, or Others Involved in the Patient's Care.
