Information & Resources
It only takes one phone call.
MHA's Information & Resource program "walks" people through the mental/behavioral health system. Once diagnosed with a mental illness, many people find themselves lacking information about their disorder, treatment options, and, most importantly, public resources.
Since Arizona has yet to pass legislation requiring insurance companies to cover mental illnesses at the same rate as physical illnesses, most people must turn to the public mental health system. The public system is overburdened, underfunded, and often very challenging to navigate.
MHA's Information & Resource program helps facilitate access and reduce frustration. The program is also helpful with finding private resources, including methods to obtain medication or counseling. In addition to helping consumers, the Information & Resource program can also help family members locate support systems and other useful information. Our Resource List is updated on a regular basis, check back often for newer versions.
People from anywhere in Arizona can contact MHA's Information & Resource program through a TOLL FREE number: (800) MHA-9277.
