Campaign for America's Mental Health
Now in its sixteenth year, the MHA Campaign for America's Mental Health is the nation's most comprehensive and effective mental health education effort. The Campaign operates through the collective efforts of Mental Health America and numerous dedicated affiliates from around the country to:
- Improve understanding of mental health and mental illnesses
- Encourage people to take steps to protect and improve their own mental wellness, or that of someone close to them
- Promote early recognition and treatment of mental health conditions
- Advance individual empowerment and recovery from mental illness
- Enhance the ability of schools, businesses, the health care system, faith communities and other settings to address the mental health needs of their constituencies
In 2008 Mental Health America will embark on a new focus for the Campaign centered on Wellness and resiliency. Through the Campaign, Mental Health America and its affiliate Campaign Partners will work together to change attitudes and norms around health-seeking among people at risk for a mental health problem and promote the message that mental health is fundamental to overall health and wellness.
